Magic link issues

I didn't receive the sign-in email

  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Make sure you entered the correct email address.
  • Some email providers (especially corporate ones) delay or block transactional mail. Try a personal email address (Gmail, etc.) if the issue persists.
  • Wait 2–3 minutes — delivery is usually instant but occasionally delayed.

My magic link says it expired

Magic links expire after a short window for security. Go back to the login page and request a new one.

I'm being redirected back to the login page after clicking the link

This can happen if the link was opened in a different browser than the one you started on, or if you're in a privacy/incognito mode that blocks cookies. Try opening the link in your default browser.


Unlocking & credits

I paid but my trip is still locked

Wait 10–15 seconds and refresh the page. The unlock happens via a payment webhook that processes asynchronously. If it's still locked after a minute, contact hello@hiptrip.com with your receipt.

I applied a promo code but I don't see my credits

Your balance appears at /dashboard/credits. If a code was accepted (no error shown), the credits are there. Promo codes grant credits to your account balance — they don't automatically unlock a specific trip. Use a credit from the paywall on the itinerary.

My promo code isn't working

  • Promo codes are case-insensitive but must be entered exactly.
  • Codes can only be used once per account.
  • Codes may have expiration dates — check if yours is still valid.

Itinerary issues

The map shows "not available" for some locations

The map depends on geocoded coordinates for each activity. Some places can't be found in the Google Places database and won't have a pin. This is most common for remote trailheads or small local businesses. The activity description will still have the place name and directions context.

The AI generated places that don't exist or are closed

The AI uses a real places database, but occasionally a business may have closed or details may be outdated. Always verify critical details (opening hours, trail access, accommodation availability) before your trip.

I accidentally edited my itinerary and want to revert it

Currently, there's no undo for itinerary edits. If you've made significant unwanted changes, contact hello@hiptrip.com and we may be able to help restore from a previous version.


Sharing

The person I shared with says they can't see my trip

  • Confirm they're logged in with the same email address you shared to.
  • If they signed up after you shared, the invite links automatically — they just need to be logged in.
  • Check the Share dialog on your itinerary to confirm the share is still active.

Account

I want to change my email address

Email changes require manual assistance. Contact hello@hiptrip.com.

I want to delete my account

Contact hello@hiptrip.com to request account deletion. We'll remove your data in accordance with our privacy policy.
